About this Member

The Zlín Region is one of the most industrialised regions in the Czech Republic, with focus on light industry and especially on branches like rubber and plastics, aircraft, precise machinery, defence, semiconductors and electronics as well. Semiconductors are being designed and produced in our region for more than 30 years and the “semiconductors and microelectronics” industry is highlighted as one of the 6 sector-specific domains of smart specialisation in Regional Innovation Strategy of the Zlín Region. The aim of the Regional Authority of the Zlín Region is to help to strenghten local semiconductor ecosystem, together with Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Technological Innovation Centre, global semiconductor companies located in our region (onsemi, NXP) and numerous other companies connected to this industry. The Zlín Region is the member of Czech National Semiconductor Cluster and also one of member regions in the European Semiconductor Regions Alliance (www.esra-org.eu).
